Foreclosure Surplus Funds Attorney

Attorney John Lara of Kyle & Kyle Law works in partnership with Visionary Surplus Recovery to provide legal representation in foreclosure surplus-funds matters.

Licensed to practice law in Florida and Illinois, John brings extensive experience in foreclosure litigation, probate and estate administration, real estate law, bankruptcy, and loss mitigation. His broad legal background allows him to identify and address many of the issues that can delay or complicate a surplus claim, including competing claims, creditor interests, probate requirements, and questions concerning legal entitlement.

Before joining Kyle & Kyle Law, John managed his former firm’s litigation and estate administration departments. His experience in foreclosure law began before he became a licensed attorney, when he represented homeowners through his law school’s foreclosure clinic under the supervision of its managing attorney.

For Visionary Surplus Recovery clients, John may assist with reviewing legal entitlement, preparing and filing court documents, addressing competing claims, appearing in court, resolving probate-related issues, and pursuing the release of surplus funds to the rightful claimant.

John was raised in the Chicagoland area and relocated to Southwest Florida in 2022. He began practicing law in Illinois in 2017 and later passed the July 2022 Florida Bar Examination. In 2020, he received the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce’s Regional 30 Under 40 Award in recognition of his professional accomplishments and community involvement.

John is also committed to community service. He has served as a law-school peer mentor, volunteered as a mock judge for the Jessup Moot Court Competition, and participated in and organized numerous community events.

Although John’s work with Visionary Surplus Recovery focuses on surplus-funds matters, clients who need foreclosure-defense assistance may be referred separately to Kyle & Kyle Law for a consultation.
